One of the most requested procedures is the facelift. Sagging or drooping face and neck, double chin, wrinkled necks, jowls, marionette lines, and neck bands are all signs of aging, and are created by gravity, time, heredity, health, and personal habits like sun tanning and smoking. Patients are evaluated and a treatment plan is created individually to improve their specific concerns in an extensive personal consultation with
Dr. Duquette.
Some of the most visible signs of aging first appear on the
face and neck. Although the changes appear gradually, there
may come a day when you look in the mirror and decide that the
face you see does not reflect the way you feel about yourself.
If you would like to look as good as you feel, a facelift or
necklift can help. Also known as rhytidectomy, a facelift
smoothes the loose skin on your face and neck, tightens
underlying tissues and muscles and removes excess fat. As a
result, your face will appear firmer and fresher. Dr. Duquette
strives for a natural appearance minimizing the "done look".
Dr. Duquette performs this surgery in an outpatient setting
although you remain at the Outpatient Center overnight (23
hours) where you receive care through the night by a
Registered Nurse.
Most patients experience temporary bruising, swelling,
numbness and a tight feeling. You can expect to return to work
in 10-14 days depending on how well you heal. You may return
to normal physical activities in 3-4 weeks.
