Eyelid Lift

Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is the treatment for removing bags under the eyes or the drooping, hanging skin of the upper lids. These conditions can add years to your appearance, make you look tired, and even impair your vision.

Most patients are back to their normal routine within a few days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks. Swelling and bruising are minimal and everyone recovers at his or her own rate. There is no pain associated with these procedures.

More than any other facial feature, your eyes reveal the most about how you feel. When your eyes are bright and alert, you appear energized, well rested, and in control. If you believe that your eyes are making you look tired, sad or older than you really feel, cosmetic eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, might be the right choice for you. Eyelid surgery can remove the excess fat and drooping skin of the upper eyelids, minimize bags under the eyes and tighten the lower eyelid skin. The result is a more alert and rested appearance.

Most people experience temporary discomfort, tightness of the lids, swelling, and bruising, as well as, dryness, burning and itching of the eyes. You may return to work in 5-7 days depending on how well you heal. You may return to normal physical activities in 2-3 weeks. Contact lenses may not be worn for 2 weeks or more.
