A flat stomach is important to a physically fit appearance.
However, a healthy diet and regular abdominal workouts can
sometimes do little to eliminate accumulations of excess fat
and loose, sagging skin in the abdominal area.
Abdominoplasty
is designed to firm and smooth the abdomen. Dr. Duquette
achieves this by removing excess skin and fat from the abdomen
and tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall. The result
is a flatter, tighter abdominal profile. Dr. Duquette
performs this surgery in an outpatient setting although you
remain at the Outpatient Center overnight (23 hours) where you
receive care through the night by a Registered Nurse.
Most patients experience temporary pain, some swelling, and
bruising of the abdominal area. You can expect to return to
work in 2-4 weeks depending on how quickly you heal. More
strenuous activity can be resumed in 4-6 weeks or more.
